The SARS-ANI Vis intends to provide intuitive insights into specific aspects on SARS-CoV-2 events in animals at-a-glance, starting from a general overview and leading to more specific questions, such as variants across species or reported clinical signs. We consider an event when one single case or several epidemiologically related cases were identified by the presence of viral RNA (proof of infection) and/or antibodies (proof of exposure) in an animal. This is a collaborative project between the Complexity Science Hub Vienna, University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna and Wildlife Conservation Society (United States). Data is manually collected and updated weekly from two major databases: the Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases ProMED-mail and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) World Animal Health Information System OIE-WAHIS.
